Cambridge University Hockey Club, founded in 1890 and based at Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, is the largest and most successful university sports club in Cambridge.

Every weekend the club fields around 90 players across six teams (3 men’s, 3 women’s) with both Blues sides competing at the highest level of regional hockey. The club also plays in BUCS (British University and College Sports) competitions where the men’s and women’s Blues compete successfully near the top of the pyramid. As well as league hockey, all of the teams play their Oxford equivalents in a fiercely contested set of Varsity matches towards the end of Lent Term.

The club relies on annual subscriptions of around £290 from its playing members to cover the costs of pitch hire, umpiring, transportation and coaching. Sports kit is purchased separately. This expense can deter stellar hockey players from across Collegiate Cambridge from participating.

We are seeking additional alumni support to help meet our ongoing expenses and keep subscription costs down. Your regular support ensures that CUHC can remain financially sustainable and continue to go from strength to strength.

Please note that the club is able to claim Gift Aid on donations from UK taxpayers giving via the University's fundraising campaign, at no additional cost to the donor.
