Swimming and Water Polo Club (CUSWPC)
Founded in 1855 Cambridge University Swimming and Water Polo Club (CUSWPC) is one of the oldest swimming clubs in the country.
CUSWPC competes against Oxford annually in the pool at the Swimming and the Water Polo Varsity matches and bi-annually in the English Channel Relay Swim.
Visit the CUSWPC website for more information.
The Captains’ Campaign
CUSWPC is looking for help to address the challenges it faces around student participation and accessibility. The increasing costs of membership for students acts as a barrier to access. Currently, subscription fees start at £500 for swimmers and £300 for water polo players, increasing with the cost of training camps totalling £450 for water polo players and £650 for swimmers in 2019/20. Due to the lack of a University swimming pool, the Club incurs pool hire and transportation costs for home fixtures and meets in addition to the costs for coaching and buying kit
Additionally, both our men's and women's water polo teams are the only squads competing at their level of play in BUCS unable to afford professional coaching, placing the burden instead on our more experienced student-athletes.
The Club is looking for support to help assist with student membership fees as well as work towards our ambition for a University swimming pool.
