Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club (CUWBC) combines academic excellence with the experience of a lifetime.

We support the next generation of world class student athletes, who will take the leadership lessons from sport into research, teaching and professional life.

We’ve come a long way – from the first Women’s Boat Race in 1927, a contest of time and style, to the forming of CUWBC in 1941 and the battles since for equality in Boat Race terms, which didn’t come until 2015. In 1966 our Blondie crew made their debut against Osiris; a new era began in 1977 when the Boat Races moved to Henley and in 1984 we welcomed the Lightweight Crew to the Club.

In all that time, CUWBC has been at the forefront of women’s university rowing and is now a recognised as a world-class centre of excellence.

Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club is a club that pushes boundaries! With your support we will remain the leading university women’s rowing programme, where young athletes are developed into world class performers.
