This year we will be releasing a profile video for all of our athletes enrolled on the UCAPP scheme. Raghul is a Team GB Powerlifter and is a PhD student at Cambridge. His competitive highlights include representing GB at the European Bench Press Championships and winning British Universities in two consecutive years in different weight-classes. He has also been extensively involved in the Cambridge University Powerlifting Club, Captaining the Men's side this year, and works to improve accessibility of the sport and share its wide-ranging benefits with more people. As a PhD student, he works on the climate issue. He develops probabilistic machine learning to improve climate models. Doing this can help us create better predictions of our future climate so we can take appropriate actions to prepare ourselves for the future. The University of Cambridge Athlete Performance Programme (UCAPP) has been established thanks to the generosity and support of alumnus Mark Hanson (Girton 1985) who was a Modern Pentathlete while at Cambridge. We don’t believe that you should have to compromise your academic or sporting ambitions if you attend The University Cambridge and the support you receive from UCAPP should help you to maximise your potential during your time with us.
