This year the University of Cambridge Summer Programmes celebrates a 100th anniversary: this is one of the oldest Summer Programmes in the world. We want to mark this by launching our 100 Patrons+ Campaign to raise funds to offer as many partially, and fully-funded places as possible, this year, and for the future.

The programmes are short, but intensive, and can have a real impact on those who participate. There are so many people around the globe who would benefit from your help in supporting their application. Recipients of bursaries in previous years have told us that they found it easier to go on to further study, had better options for career moves, and made lasting friendships. For these students, the Summer Programmes have indeed proved life-changing.

The 100 Patrons+ Campaign is seeking 100+ people to help us to fund places for students on this year’s Summer Programme and for years to come. Using contacts in universities and institutions overseas who can vouch for each potential recipient, we can identify students who have not had similar opportunities, and who would benefit most from a period of study at Cambridge. We strive to reach an endowment of at least £50,000 in the first year of the campaign. Each two-week stay — tuition and accommodation — costs around £3,000. With your help, we can reach more students.
