Gymnastics Club (CUOGC)
The Cambridge University Olympic Gymnastics Club prides itself on being a fun and rewarding club for people of all levels.
We think that the benefits of gymnastics are transferable to almost any sport, and we have focussed on growing our beginner training sessions and competitions over the years. That’s not to say we haven’t thrived at the top level! Cambridge had an incredible 12-year winning streak against Oxford at the annual Varsity Men's competition and has gymnasts performing as top athletes at BUCS.
While the benefits of gymnastics in Cambridge are far-reaching, the sport is becoming increasingly costly and this often acts as a barrier to new starters. We lost our permanent gymnasium set-up many years ago and have been supplementing our temporary setup at the sports centre with training in external gyms ever since. These sessions are costly to the club in terms of travel and expensive to the members as each session is an extra £8-10. We’d love to be able to supplement this cost and keep gymnastics accessible to everyone. We also strive to maintain the quality of our equipment and offer a high standard of coaching at every session.
We would be very grateful for your support. Here is how you can help:
- £10 covers the cost of a session for a student
- £30 can pay for our coach to lead a session
- £90 will pay for a student’s membership for a term
- £180 can cover membership for a student for a year
- £2600 can cover all facility hire for a term
