Based in Cambridge, the Brain Cancer Virtual Institute unites clinicians and scientists working to improve outcomes for brain cancer patients.

Working with partners including the CRUK RadNet programme, the CRUK Children's Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence and members across Cambridge, the BCVI is driving forward new developments in brain cancer research.

Led by Mr Stephen Price and Mr Richard Mair, the BCVI is part of the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre.

Our mission is to improve brain cancer outcomes for the patients of today and tomorrow.

We will do this through our innovative approach:

  • Investment in tissue banking
  • Integration of big data and big ideas, e.g. integrated cancer medicine
  • Exploration of early detection in brain tumours
  • Supporting excellence in training and education
