The Visiting Professors of Design are architectural practitioners at a senior level who devote some through “Crits” throughout the year. The Visiting Design Professorship was previously held by Spencer de Grey until 2020.

While Design Fellows are usually individuals at the early or mid-points in their careers, Visiting Design Professors are people at the top of the profession and they bring expertise to the students and the Faculty. Visiting Design Professors typically work 10-15 days per academic year and their pay is pro rata.

Visiting Design Professorships will be named and could be supported on an annual basis or endowed:

  • Annual cost — £30,000 per Professor
  • Endowed cost — £500,000 per Professor
