About philanthropy at Cambridge

The importance of philanthropy

Philanthropy has been vital to Cambridge’s success throughout its history. Today more than ever, it ensures we continue to provide world-class research and teaching, support talented students from diverse backgrounds, and ensure Cambridge's historic buildings and facilities are fit for the twenty-first century. Thanks to deep partnerships with donors, volunteers and alumni, Cambridge continues to succeed in its mission to contribute to society through the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence.

Cambridge turns philanthropy into impact. Now more than ever, our work takes place on a global scale. We build computers in Cambridge, grow tomatoes in Mexico, nurture leaders in Africa, empower education in India, and help protect cultures, languages and species across the planet.

Our Campaign Board brings together eminent alumni and friends of Collegiate Cambridge. Acting as advocates and leading by example, the Board shares the aims of the campaign and provides advice to the Vice-Chancellor and the collegiate community.

Philanthropy is the golden thread linking our greatest achievements. You can donate today — online, by phone or by post. Legacy gifts are also a vital way to secure our future. Our fundraisers are on hand any time to offer advice or to discuss a major gift.
