Without philanthropy

Philanthropy at Cambridge University

Our donors support some of the brightest postgraduate and undergraduate talents. Find out how philanthropic support gives them the freedom to investigate their subjects.

Our donors support some of the brightest postgraduate and undergraduate talents. Without such generosity, the pioneering work for which we are known would not be possible.

In this video, you meet three students who have been supported by philanthropy:

  • Dr Hannah Stern (Trinity College) is a Winton Scholar in the Department of Physics who researches the efficiency of solar cells.
  • Dr Aftab Jalia (Clare Hall) is a Virgin Atlantic India Scholar, based in the Department of Architecture. He investigates 700-year-old building techniques
  • Jodie Rawles (Hughes Hall) received a Wellcome Trust scholarship to study the support provided to people with learning disabilities. She is based in the Department of Psychiatry.
