The Alexander Goehr Contemporary Music Fund
The fund will enable the performance of contemporary music by a professional ensemble at the Faculty of Music. It is envisaged that it will support an annual event.
It was created in memory of the composer Alexander Goehr, who was, for 23 years, the 1684 Professor of Music. Goehr had an enormous influence on music at Cambridge and across the entire scene of British composers after WWII; with this fund his influence will continue to inspire future musicians and composers.
