Polar Studies alumni are welcome to join this special event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the MPhil in Polar Studies.

The afternoon will begin at the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI), where the library and teaching spaces will be open from 4pm to 5.30pm. This will be a wonderful opportunity for current MPhil students, alumni and teaching staff to reconnect with one another and with the Institute.

From 5pm to 7pm, we will host a drinks reception at SPRI. The programme will include a short talk reflecting on the history of the MPhil in Polar Studies, as well as the chance to hear from members of the current MPhil cohort about their research.

The celebrations will conclude with a 50th Anniversary Dinner at 7.30pm at Downing College.

Booking information

Tickets for both the afternoon programme and the dinner are free, but places are limited. We anticipate high demand, so bookings will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. A waiting list will be operated if necessary.

To secure your place, please RSVP, including any dietary requirements.

Booking for this event will close on Monday 20 April 2026, 11.45pm BST.
