Our Campaign Board brings together eminent alumni and friends of Collegiate Cambridge. Acting as advocates and leading by example, the Board shares the aims of the campaign and provides advice to the Vice-Chancellor and the collegiate community.
The former Chief Executive of PIMCO, one of the world’s largest investment management companies, Dr El-Erian now serves as Chief Economic Advisor for Allianz. He formerly served as Chair of President Obama’s global development council and as Deputy Director at the IMF, Managing Director of Salomon Smith Barney, and CEO and President of the Harvard Management Company. He writes regularly for Bloomberg, the Financial Times and Project Syndicate and his book, When Markets Collide, was a New York Times best seller. Dr El-Erian is honorary fellow and alumnus of Queens’ (Economics, 1977) and a member of the Guild of Cambridge Benefactors.
Sir Harvey McGrath
Sir Harvey, Chairman of Big Society Capital, is an alumnus of St Catharine’s (Geography, 1971). He also serves as Deputy Chair of The Mayor of London’s Enterprise Panel, Chairman of Governors at Birkbeck College, University of London and Chairman of Funding London. Sir Harvey was knighted in the 2016 New Year’s Honours List for services to economic growth and public life. He is a member of the Guild of Cambridge Benefactors and was awarded The Chancellor’s 800th Anniversary Medal for Outstanding Philanthropy in 2012. He chairs a number of charities, including Heart of the City and the Prince’s Teaching Institute, and is a trustee of New Philanthropy Capital and the Mayor’s Fund for London.
