Sailing and windsurfing (CUCrC)
Cambridge University Cruising Club is the home of all windsurfing and small boat sailing at the University. 'Small' is 30 feet or less overall; bigger boats are the province of the separate Cambridge University Yacht Club.
The Club caters for complete novices to National Youth Squad members. We run RYA Training courses and enter successful teams for university and open events such as BUCS/BUSA, SWA, the ‘Aussie Kiss’ and the Wilson Trophy.
The Club relies on alumni financial support to regularly replace its boats, boards and gear. Six of its twelve Fireflies, all based at Grafham Water, need to be replaced every three years at a cost of over £45,000. Boards and gear are replaced on an annual basis.
