The Cambridge University Women’s Lacrosse Club, founded in 1912 and celebrating our 105th Varsity match this season, is arguably the most successful, respected and long-standing female sports club at the University.

One of only two Cambridge teams to reach the BUCS National Championship final for several years running, CUWLC is renowned for its skill, hard work and impressive performances.

We are composed of two teams: the Blues and the Kingfishers, with players representing England at an international level and several others representing the Home Nations as Junior level. Our last home Varsity saw exciting close games against Oxford culminating in a win for both the Blues and the Kingfishers, and we hope to achieve this outstanding result on home turf again this year.

As a top women’s sports club, run by the students for the students, we rely heavily on annual subscriptions of £215 from our playing members. This covers the costs of pitch hire, umpiring, transportation and coaching, on top of which members also pay for their own training and match kit, placing a significant financial burden on students.

We are seeking additional alumni support to secure the future of CUWLC and ensure the sport is accessible to all, by assisting the club in meeting its ongoing expenses and keeping subscription costs down. Your regular support will help bridge the gap between subsistence and excellence, both in the financial sustainability and sporting excellence of the team.
