Cambridge University Dance Competition Team
The CUDCT is a mixed Half-Blues status team which supports 35 to 40 athletes of the highest caliber in seven styles of dance each year, offering performance opportunities the prestigious Varsity competition against Oxford, two national inter-university dance competitions and two Dance Society performances per season.
Since 2016, we have won Varsity seven times and earned countless medals on national stages, gaining a reputation of talent, creativity and athleticism.
Participation in competition at such a high level, though, comes with significant financial costs, therefore our team’s ability to achieve our goal of representing the university at the highest national level in dance depends on the financial support of donors.
In the upcoming 2025/26 season, your donations will help us break down financial barriers and support dancers on the team:
- £10 would cover a costume element for one dancer that is high-quality and made for dance, and help us better support the creative vision of our choreographers and the comfort of our dancers.
- £25 would cover one day of competition entry fees for one dancer, helping us to subsidise the costs to our dancers.
- £50 would cover the cost of a CUDCT Blues Jacket, allowing an athlete to represent Cambridge nationally.
- £100 would cover the compensation for one judge for Varsity, to provide valuable feedback from which our dancers and choreographers can learn.
- £300 would cover the costs of a full-day rehearsal in a safer, fit-for-purpose dance studio, as opposed to rehearsing in small, carpeted college rooms.
- £1000 would help us attend a national competition by covering the cost of one night of accommodation or one way of bus transport for our entire team.

Any significant donations will be handled by the Committee, and recurring direct debits can be used for distinct purposes if specified.
