This five-week summer course has been designed for year 12 and 13 students interested in the arts. The course will give students a taste of architecture school at university, whether or not they decide to apply to Cambridge.

We will help with their portfolio creation and introduce them to university-level equipment, materials and workshops, which is especially beneficial to secondary school students who do not have well-resourced art studios and departments.

This opportunity will increase students’ confidence by providing hands-on experience of working in a studio environment and access to teaching from the University of Cambridge tutors from the Architecture degree course.

We feel it is important that this Summer School course is available at no cost to all participating students. The five-week course will cost c. £10,000 per student, including all materials, teaching time and accommodation. A cohort of at least ten students is necessary to run the summer school.

  • To establish a named Summer School for five years — £500,000
