Supporting musical potential, strengthening confidence: preparing every student to thrive at Cambridge

Teaching in harmony and counterpoint remains core to our mission for equipping every student, regardless of background, with the skills to thrive within the Music Tripos. In addition to courses for first-year students, pre-sessional courses run in August and September each year for confirmed offer-holders to ensure they are ready to flourish in Cambridge from the moment they arrive.

A Teaching Fellow in Harmony and Counterpoint would establish a post within the Faculty, dedicated to supporting individual students in this area. This would have an enormous impact on the confidence and experience of our students, now and into the future, particularly those whose musical education before arriving at the Faculty has focused on other areas.
