There is currently underutilised space available in Scroope Terrace to create a Digital Media Production Editing Suite. Due to the relocation of facilities to the Dyson Building, this newly freed-up space in the basement provides an opportunity to expand and develop our teaching and creating spaces.

The new Digital Media Production Editing Suite would provide first-class facilities to teach architecture students how to produce animations, podcasts, YouTube videos, and short films. We are also exploring setting up a new course to teach these production skills at Master's level, aimed at practitioners and those interested in changing careers.

This physical remodel will vastly improve and expand our facilities in the department. It will ensure that Cambridge remains an exciting place to study and one of the leading architecture schools in the world.

  • Establishing the editing suite equipment — £60,000
  • Annual maintenance — £8,500 per year

At a time when the national and international media regularly examine issues pertaining to the nature and habitability of our cities, and buildings which veer between sculptural extravagance and environmental responsibility, there is a great need for serious, committed and imaginative designers and thinkers in the discipline.
