Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (CURUFC) is a wholly amateur student rugby club aiming to offer a rugby environment that aims to provide the best student rugby experience for academically talented students, both men and women.

The Club runs a full series of fixtures in both the Michelmas and Lent terms, including men’s fixtures against several professional clubs and the prestigious game in late November against the Micky Steele-Bodger XV, which celebrates its 70th anniversary of continuous matches in 2017.

The CURUFC women play in the top leagues of the BUCS competition; women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing sports at the University. The Club also runs a full programme of College rugby, including league, Cuppers and Sevens competitions.

The ultimate aim of every rugby player at Cambridge should be to play in a 'Varsity' match. Annually there are now six Varsity matches played at 1st and 2nd Team (Men & Women), Men’s U20s and College levels, ensuring that over 100 players gain the honour of playing against ‘the other place.' The Varsity series culminates at Twickenham in early December with one of the biggest women's rugby matches in the world and then the world-renowned Men’s Varsity Match in front of approximately 25,000 spectators and a worldwide television audience.
